Okaeri!

Status: A conceptual brand proposal
What the project is about
Okaeri! おかえり! which also means Welcome back! is a simulated Japanese concept cafe run by motherly housewives. The cafe allows customers who are either business men, tired travellers, or the stranded to rest and relax, and have a place to 'come home' to, literally. Like a home, customers can taste homecooked food, enjoy baths, board games or nap in futons.
Based on the cafe's concept, the logo is pretty straightforward. It comprises of simple ^ sign over a bowl to symbolise shelter and food. The colours pink and green were primarily used. Seaweed is the first to come to mind when it comes to Japanese food; pink representing feminity and the motherly figures running the cafe.
Secondary graphics will be little illustrations of typical healthy sides Japanese mothers include in bento boxes. The illustrations take on a bright colour scheme, paired with fluid organic shapes to depict healthy food as well as the openness and warmth of a mother.
